Starting with a single Ford coach (CM788), Kinson built its reputation on the “three-shift” factory routine. As the government developed the Northwest New Territories, the company strategically moved to Tin Shui Wai, becoming a primary transport partner for schools like TWGHs Leo Tung-hai Lee Primary and HKMA K S Lo College.
Challenges & Resilience (2000s)
The early 2000s brought the “first low tide” due to the expansion of the Light Rail network and the SARS epidemic. Kinson successfully navigated this period by selling assets to maintain liquidity and surviving a wave of industry mergers (2005–2010), firmly securing its niche in the Yuen Long and Tuen Mun regions.
Modernization (2011 – 2020)
This decade marked a period of rapid growth and the official birth of the BusPro brand in 2017. Benefiting from a surge in Mainland tourism and a boom in local infrastructure projects, the company diverted its fleet to meet high-demand site shuttle needs. During this time, 65-seater coaches became the industry standard, and the fleet transitioned from manual to automatic gearboxes using brands like Scania and Volvo.
2020 – Present
Facing the global COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent suspension of schools and tourism, the industry entered a significant downturn. BusPro and Kinson have focused on stability and adaptation during this era, maintaining their long-standing commitment to the Northwest New Territories. Today, the company continues to provide “reliable, simple, and convenient” services, remaining a rare example of a local operator that bridges 1980s heritage with 21st-century digital outreach.
